Configuring Two-Factor Authentication in LS Cloud

Overview

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that adds a second layer of protection to your LS Cloud account. When enabled, logging in requires both your password and a unique, time-sensitive code generated by an authenticator app on your mobile device.

This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have an authenticator application installed on your smartphone. Recommended apps include:

How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Log in to your LS Cloud panel using your current username and password.
  2. Click the profile icon in the top-right corner and select Configure 2FA.
  3. A setup window will appear displaying a QR code
  4. Link Your App:
    • Open your authenticator app on your phone.
    • Select the option to add a new account (usually a + icon).
    • Choose Scan a QR code and point your camera at the code shown in the LS Cloud panel.
    • Optional: If your camera isn't working, click “Enter code manually” in your app and type in the secret key displayed on the LS Cloud screen under “Setup key”.
  5. Your app will now show a 6-digit code. Type this code into the One-time password field in the LS Cloud panel to verify the connection.
  6. Click Configure to finish the process.

How to Restore Access When Two-factor Authentication Is Set Up

If you have lost access to your second-factor device (for example, your phone is lost, stolen, or reset), you can do the following:

  • Try restoring the authenticator app from a backup, if available.
  • Contact your system administrator to reset your 2FA settings.

Once the access is restored, you must reset 2FA and configure it again.

How to Reset Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Click the profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select Reset 2FA.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and click Reset.

Now, you will be logged out automatically and can reconfigure 2FA.
