How to order VPS Linux/Windows in Client Area

Overview

Virtual Private Server or VPS is a type of hosting service that allows individuals and businesses to host their websites and applications on a virtual machine that runs its own operating system and has dedicated resources such as CPU, RAM, and storage. It is called a “virtual” private server because it is created by partitioning a physical server into multiple virtual servers, each with its own operating system and resources.

In this article, you will learn how to order VPS from the client area.

How to order VPS Linux

  1. Log in to your Client Area account.
  2. From the main menu go to Cloud Services > Order new service.
  3. From the side-menu Services select VPS Linux.
  4. Select the suitable VPS plan and click Order Now.
  5. Choose Billing Cycle and configure your desired options:
    • Data Center: Select which Data Center you would like your server to be hosted on from the drop-down menu.
    • OS: Choose your operating system distribution.
    • Control Panel (Optional): Select your desired control panel add-on. You can keep it “None” if you don’t need any.
      Note

Not having a control panel in VPS hosting can result in difficulties managing your server and increase human interaction using command-line due to the lack of user-friendly tools, such as DNS manager, emails, etc. It's recommended to use a control panel to simplify server administration tasks and ensure well performance and automated software updates of your VPS.

    • Additional Volume Size GB (Optional): If you need any additional volume size, move the cursor to set the number of Gigabytes needed.
    • Enable Backups (Optional): check Enable if you wish to enable backup service for your VPS disk.
      Note

Backups are daily copies of your server's disk, automatically created once activated. They are maintained for 7 days and replaced with the newest backup after that. Backup schedule and time cannot be customized, and data on additional volumes is not included. View and restore backups using the “Backups” icon in your client area account.

    • Configure Server: In this section, you will need to specify your server details as follows:
      • Hostname: Represents the name associated with the server's IP address. For example (name.server.ly)
      • Root Password: Server root password
      • NS1 Prefix and NS2 Prefix: Represents the first part of your custom nameservers, where you can simply fill in these two fields with “ns1” and “ns2”.
      • Additional Information: If you want to log in to the VM without using a password, you can enter your public key in the OpenSSH format (e.g. ssh-rsa) in the SSH Public Key field.

        Then click Continue.
  6. Choose Payment method, then click Checkout.
