LS Suite Auto DNS Configurator

Our Auto DNS Configurator is a powerful tool designed to simplify the initial setup of your LS Suite email service. By automating the DNS configuration process, it ensures a quick, accurate, and hassle-free activation without the need for manual record editing.

This configurator is available under two main conditions:

  • Your domain's nameservers are pointed to our default nameservers:
ns1.ns.ly
ns2.ns.ly
ns3.ns.ly
ns4.ns.ly
ns5.ns.ly
  • You have an active cPanel service under the same account as your LS Suite service package.

Prerequisites

To use the Auto DNS Configurator, your domain must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Scenario 1: Domain pointed to LS Suite Nameservers Your domain must be using our nameservers:
ns1.ns.ly
ns2.ns.ly
ns3.ns.ly
ns4.ns.ly
ns5.ns.ly
  • Scenario 2: Active cPanel Service You must have an active cPanel service on the same account as your LS Suite service package.

If your domain's DNS is managed elsewhere (e.g., with a third-party DNS provider) and you do not have an active cPanel service with us, you will need to perform a manual DNS configuration.

Step-by-Step Guide

The configuration process is divided into two key steps: validating domain ownership and configuring essential email records (MX and SPF).

Step 1: Domain Ownership Validation

This initial step is crucial for verifying that you own and control the domain you wish to configure. The configurator handles this automatically.

  1. Navigate to the Auto DNS Configurator within your control panel.
  2. The system will check if your domain's nameservers are correctly pointed to us or if you have an active cPanel service.
  3. Click the DNS validation button. The system will automatically add a temporary A record to your DNS zone to validate ownership.
  4. Wait a few moments for the validation to complete. Once successful, you will be able to proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Configuring MX and SPF Records

IMPORTANT WARNING: This step is irreversible. By proceeding, the configurator will remove any existing MX and SPF records from your DNS zone and replace them with the correct records for LS Suite. If you have an existing email service with another provider, this action will immediately disable it. Please ensure you no longer need your previous email service before continuing.

After successful domain validation, the configurator will prompt you to set up your email records.

  1. The configurator will present you with the option to automatically add the necessary MX and SPF records for LS Suite.
  2. Click the button to confirm the configuration.
  3. The system will automatically add the correct MX records for directing incoming mail to LS Suite servers.
  4. It will also add the correct SPF record to authorize LS Suite's servers to send emails on behalf of your domain, helping to prevent spoofing and improve deliverability.

Once this step is complete, your domain is fully configured for use with the LS Suite email service.

Special Note on cPanel Integration

f your domain is on an active cPanel service with us, the Auto DNS Configurator works in the same manner. It will detect your cPanel DNS zone and perform the same automatic validation and record configuration as described above.

Important warning: any existing MX and SPF records will be replaced, which will affect any current email service.
