Setup email on Android devices

Overview

The following article describes how to Setup an email on Android devices using the default email app. However, there are many other e-mail apps available. the general steps and concepts are the same as those described below.

  • Set up email on Android devices this article assumes that you have already created at least one e-mail account for your domain. If you have not done this, please see this article to learn how to create an e-mail account using cPanel.
  • This article also assumes that you have some basic familiarity with e-mail protocols (SMTP, IMAP, and POP). If you are unfamiliar with these protocols, please read the difference between IMAP and POP3 first before you try to set up a client e-mail application.

Setup email on Android devices

  1. From the list of applications on the device, click on the Email icon
  2. Enter the email address and password, then click Manual setup.
  3. On the new page, choose the POP3 Account or IMAP Account.
  4. Enter the password for your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Server Settings

  1. Enter the following data, and then click Next.
Enter your full email address  User Name
Enter your password Password
mail.yourdomain.com IMAP Server
SSL (Accept all certifications) Security type
993 Port
Never Delete email from a server 

Outgoing Server Settings

  1. Enter the following data, then check the following checkbox Require sign-in.
mail.yourdomain.com SMTP Server
SSL (Accept all certifications) Security type
465 Port
Enter your full email address User Name
Enter your password Password

2. Click the Next button.

3. Mark the checkboxes Send email from this account by default and Notify me when email arrives.

4. Click the Next button.

5.  Through the Setup Email window, complete the following information:

    • Give this account a name (Optional). Name your email.
    • (Your Name Displayed on outgoing messages). Enter the name that you want to appear in all outgoing emails.
    • Click on the Done button.
