Transition from Horde to Roundcube and AfterLogic

Overview

As part of cPanel's continuous improvements, support for Horde webmail is being officially discontinued starting from version 108. The reason is that Horde does not support PHP 8.x and still relies on PHP 7.4, which will reach its end of life in November this year.

To maintain security and functionality, users are encouraged to migrate to Roundcube or AfterLogic—both of which are fully supported, modern alternatives. This guide walks you through exporting your data from Horde and importing it into Roundcube.

Note: All Horde webmail accounts and data will be automatically removed when the update is rolled out.

Migration Steps Before Horde is Disabled

Exporting and Importing Address Book

From Horde:

  1. Log in to Horde and click on Address Book.
  2. Click on Import/Export from the sidebar.
  3. Under Export Address Book, click Export to download a .csv file.

To Roundcube:

  1. Go to cPanel Webmail Home and click on RoundCube > Open.
  2. Click Contacts on the left-hand menu.
  3. Select Import at the top.
  4. Upload the previously downloaded .csv file.
  5. Click Import to finalize.

Exporting and Importing Calendar Events

From Horde:

  1. In Horde, go to Calendar.
  2. Under My Calendars, click the edit/pencil icon next to your calendar.
  3. Open the Export tab.
  4. Next to Export ICS file, click Calendar ICS file to download it.

To Roundcube:

  1. In Roundcube, click the Calendar icon on the left.
  2. Click Import.
  3. Upload the .ics file downloaded earlier and click Import.

Important Note
After cPanel version 108 is released, Horde will no longer be available, and data will be inaccessible unless migrated beforehand.
It is highly recommended to migrate your address book and calendar data manually before the change occurs.
AfterLogic is also a valid alternative if enabled by your provider, with similar import options.
