WordPress Cluster Package

The WordPress Cluster package is an automated solution for high-availability WordPress installation inside a cluster of lightweight containers. The package performs all the necessary configuration steps required to set up a WordPress cluster, including the installation of a web server, database, load balancer, and shared storage. It also configures automatic horizontal scaling based on the load and interconnects all components to work as a single system. This allows you to run large-scale projects with high traffic and ensures that your WordPress site remains available even during peak loads. It offers enterprise-grade performance and reliability without the need for extensive DevOps knowledge.

In order to get the most from your WordPress Cluster, the following benefits can be configured:

  • install a WordPress cluster powered by LightSpeed and a highly available MariaDB Galera cluster
  • attach a fault-tolerant Shared Storage cluster based on GlusterFS software
  • get a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate with automatic renewal
  • bind a custom domain and update the certificate
  • scale dynamically based on the load

3. In the opened installation window, you can choose the Scaling Strategy based on the expected load.

Based on our experience, we offer three common scaling automation scenarios for WordPress to prevent overload (these settings can be adjusted after the installation):

  • Low Load
    • adds 1 application server node (up to 16) if the workload is higher than 70%
    • removes 1 application server node (down to 2) if the workload goes below 20%
  • Medium Load
    • adds 1 application server node (up to 16) if the workload is higher than 50%
    • removes 1 application server node (down to 2) if the workload goes below 20%
  • High Load
    • adds 2 application server nodes (up to 16) if the workload is higher than 30%
    • removes 1 application server node (down to 2) if the workload goes below 10%

4. Next, customize your WordPress cluster application by selecting the necessary advanced features:

  • select LiteSpeed High-Performance Web Server instead of the default NGINX web server
    • enable Brute Force Attack Protection and Web Application Firewall features for LiteSpeed
  • select MariaDB Galera Cluster instead of the default Primary-Primary database cluster
  • install Let’s Encrypt SSL with Auto-Renewal add-on to issue a free SSL certificate automatically
  • select GlusterFS Cluster instead of the default Shared Storage
  • configure WordPress Multisite Network
  • install WooCommerce addon for WordPress
