Overview

If your hosting service uses cPanel, you can log in from your Libyan Spider Client Area and manage your website’s SSL directly from cPanel. Client Area supports single sign-on into cPanel, and cPanel’s SSL/TLS Status interface lets you view certificate status, check domain coverage, and manually run AutoSSL when needed.

AutoSSL issues Domain Validated (DV) certificates for eligible domains and subdomains, and cPanel allows you to see whether a domain is secured, expiring soon, excluded from AutoSSL, or has AutoSSL problems.

Before You Start

Make sure:

  1. You have an active cPanel hosting service.
  2. Your domain is pointing to the correct hosting server.
  3. Your website is reachable from the internet.
  4. You can log in to the client area.

How to Access cPanel from the Client Area

  1. Go to https://my.libyanspider.com
  2. Log in to your client account.
  3. Open Services “Cloud Service” and choose your hosting service.
  4. Click Log in to cPanel.

Client area supports direct login to cPanel from the client area without requiring you to re-enter your cPanel password.

How to Check SSL Status in cPanel

After logging in to cPanel:

  1. Go to Security
  2. Click SSL/TLS Status

In this area, you can:

  • View which domains are secured
  • See whether the certificate is active, expired, or expiring soon
  • Check whether a domain is included or excluded from AutoSSL
  • Review AutoSSL-related errors for a domain
  • View the installed certificate details

How to Run AutoSSL Manually

If your SSL certificate has not been issued yet, or you want to retry validation:

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Open SSL/TLS Status
  3. Click Run AutoSSL

cPanel documents that AutoSSL provides and renews certificates automatically, and that users can manually trigger Run AutoSSL from the SSL/TLS Status interface.

What AutoSSL Usually Covers

AutoSSL can secure:

  • Your main domain
  • www version of the domain
  • Subdomains
  • Addon domains
  • Parked domains
  • Mail-related names when applicable, depending on server configuration

Common Reasons AutoSSL May Fail

AutoSSL usually fails because the domain does not pass validation. Common causes include:

1. The domain is not pointing to the hosting server

If the domain or subdomain does not resolve correctly, AutoSSL may not be able to validate ownership. cPanel notes that AutoSSL only includes domains and subdomains that pass DCV validation.

2. Conflicting CAA records

If your DNS zone has CAA records that only allow another certificate authority, AutoSSL may fail until those records are corrected. cPanel specifically notes that conflicting CAA records can prevent issuance.

3. The domain is excluded from AutoSSL

In cPanel, a domain may appear as Excluded and therefore will not be included in AutoSSL runs.

4. A non-AutoSSL certificate is installed

cPanel states that AutoSSL does not normally replace certificates that it did not issue, unless the server administrator allows that behavior in WHM.

What to Do If SSL Is Still Not Issued

Please check the following:

  1. Confirm your domain points to the correct server IP
  2. Confirm both the main domain and www record resolve correctly
  3. Remove incorrect or restrictive CAA records if applicable
  4. Re-run AutoSSL from cPanel
  5. Wait briefly and check SSL/TLS Status again

If the issue continues, contact our support team and include:

  • Your domain name
  • A screenshot of SSL/TLS Status
  • Any AutoSSL error shown in cPanel

Is AutoSSL renewed automatically?

Yes. AutoSSL is designed to issue and renew certificates automatically. cPanel also notes that, for Let’s Encrypt-issued AutoSSL certificates, renewal is attempted when the certificate is within 29 days of expiration.

Can I force renewal before expiry?

Yes. You can manually trigger Run AutoSSL. cPanel also documents a method where an existing certificate is removed first and then AutoSSL is run again, but this should only be done carefully if you understand the impact.

Can I view certificate details?

Yes. In SSL/TLS Status, cPanel lets you open the installed certificate details.

Do all domains on the account get SSL automatically?

Only eligible domains that pass validation and are included in AutoSSL will be secured.
