How to Access Your VPS through the Console in the Client Area

Overview

The Console opens a browser-based view of your VPS operating system. It is useful when you need to reach the login screen or investigate a problem with your normal remote connection.

The console does not automatically sign you in or reset your password. You still need valid operating system credentials. The screen and sign-in process depend on the VPS operating system.

1. Access Your VPS Service

  1. Sign in to the Client Area.
  2. Open Cloud Service from the menu or dashboard.
  3. Choose the VPS you want to manage from the list.

2. Open the Console

  1. Under Management, select Console. You may also see a Console tile under Service Management.
  2. Allow the console view to load.
  3. Check the displayed operating system screen. A Linux VPS may display a text login prompt; a Windows VPS uses its own sign-in interface.

3. Sign In

  1. Click inside the console to give it keyboard focus.
  2. Enter the username for your operating system account.
  3. Enter its password when prompted. Linux text-login screens normally do not display password characters.
  4. After signing in, perform the intended administration task and sign out when finished.

A blank console does not by itself prove that the VPS has failed. Allow it to load and check the VM state on the service page. Do not force-reboot or reinstall solely because the console is initially blank.

If You Cannot Connect

Check whether the VPS is running and retry opening Console. If the console does not load, or valid credentials are rejected, contact Support. If your Linux password was lost, use the linked password-reset guide where supported.
