How to Create a VPS Snapshot from the Client Area

Overview

A snapshot captures a point-in-time state of supported VPS storage. The Snapshots section lets you view snapshot entries and request a new snapshot where your service supports it.

A snapshot is not a substitute for an independent backup. Applications and databases may require additional preparation for a consistent capture. Check with Support if you need a snapshot for a critical system.

Before You Begin

Check the service snapshot allowance and choose a meaningful name. Coordinate with application users or administrators if the workload requires preparation. Do not assume that creating a snapshot guarantees a successful restore.

1. Access Your VPS Service

  1. Sign in to the Client Area.
  2. Open Cloud Service from the menu or dashboard.
  3. Choose the VPS you want to manage from the list.

2. Open Snapshots

  1. Under Management, select Snapshots.
  2. Review the existing snapshot entries and their Name, Created, and Status columns.
  3. Click Create Snapshot.

3. Request a Snapshot

  1. Read the allowance displayed in the Create Snapshot dialog.
  2. Enter a descriptive Snapshot Name, for example before-app-update-2026-10-15.
  3. Click Confirm to submit the request, or Cancel to close without submitting.

Use the limit displayed for your own service. The allowance may vary; a limit shown in another account or screenshot does not establish your entitlement.

4. Check the Result

Return to the snapshot list and check the new entry and its status. A submitted request is not proof that the snapshot completed successfully. If the list remains empty, an error appears, or the status is unclear, contact Support before relying on the snapshot.

Restoring or Deleting a Snapshot

This guide covers snapshot creation. Before restoring or deleting a snapshot, contact Support to confirm the supported procedure, its impact on current data, and any service-specific restrictions.
