How to Change Your Domain’s Nameserver to Cloudflare

Overview

To use Cloudflare’s services, you need to point your domain to Cloudflare’s nameservers. This guide will walk you through the steps to change your domain's nameservers (NS) to Cloudflare.

Important Note:

Before updating the Nameservers, please ensure that all DNS records are accurately created in Cloudflare’s DNS. Failing to do so may result in service disruptions.

  1. Log in to your Client Area account.
  2. Navigate to Security Services – Cloudflare Pro product page from Cloud Services > My Hosting and Services.
  3. The Manage Product page will display the Cloudflare status as “Pending” since it hasn't yet been pointed to Cloudflare's servers. Please copy the Cloudflare nameservers on this page into your notes for later use.
  4. Update the domain’s nameserver by replacing the current records with Cloudflare, as explained in the Update the nameserver for a domain name article.

Confirm Nameserver Change

The DNS changes may take up to 24-48 hours to propagate worldwide. Tools like DNS Checker can verify if the nameserver changes have propagated.
