Activating & Configuring Cloudflare

Overview

Whether you are using a free or professional plan, the activation process follows a standardized sequence: you must first initialize the service within your portal and then delegate your domain's DNS management to Cloudflare. This guide provides a universal walkthrough for activating and managing your Cloudflare service through the Libyan Spider client area.

Activating & Configuring Cloudflare

If your status shows Pending Nameserver Update, you must point your domain to Cloudflare to activate the service.

  1. Log in to your Libyan Spider Client Area.
  2. Navigate to Services > My Products & Services.
  3. Select your Cloudflare service to open the Product Details page.
  4. In the Complete your setup section, you will see your current nameservers and the new Cloudflare nameservers that must replace them.
  5. Copy the provided Cloudflare nameservers and apply them to your domain's DNS management.

Important:
1- To prevent any downtime or service interruptions, verify that all your DNS records (such as A, MX, and CNAME) have been correctly added to the Cloudflare dashboard before you update your nameservers. Missing or incorrect records during this transition may cause your website or email services to become unavailable.
2- DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours to complete.

Manage DNS Records

You can configure your DNS settings either while waiting for activation or after the service is active.

  1. On the Cloudflare Product Details page, click the Manage DNS button.
  2. To add a record: Click Create DNS Record, select the Type (A, CNAME, MX, etc.), enter the required details, and click Create.
  3. To toggle Proxy: Click the cloud icon.
    • Orange Cloud (Proxied): Traffic is routed through Cloudflare, enabling all Security and Speed features.
    • Grey Cloud (DNS Only): Traffic goes directly to your server, bypassing Cloudflare's features.

Verify Active Status

Once the global DNS system recognizes the new nameservers, your service status will update to Active.

  • The domain section will display a green Active badge.
  • The Cloudflare Nameservers section will show a green Validated checkmark.
