Create an FTP account through the Client Area

Overview

An FTP account (File Transfer Protocol Account) allows users to transfer files between a computer and a hosting server. It enables uploading, downloading, and managing website files securely via FTP software or a file manager.

In this guide, you will learn how to create an FTP account from the Libyan Spider Client Area.

Use a strong password to protect your FTP account from unauthorized access.
Setting the correct directory ensures users only access designated areas.
Always monitor FTP accounts regularly and delete unused ones to enhance security.

How to Create an FTP Account

  1. Log in to your account in the Client Area.
  2. Navigate to Hosting and Services > My Hosting and Services.
  3. On the My Hosting and Services page, click on the service you want to create an FTP account for.
  4. On the Manage Details page, under the Manage Account section, click the FTP Accounts icon.
  5. The FTP Accounts page will open. Click on Create FTP Account.
  6. A pop-up window will appear. Enter the following details:
    • Login Username: The name used to log in.
    • Domain: Select the domain associated with the FTP account.
    • Password: Enter a password or click Create Password to generate a strong, random password.
    • Directory Path:
      • If using cPanel, enter /public_html.
      • If using Plesk, enter /httpdocs.
    • Quota: Set a storage quota in megabytes, or select Unlimited.
