If you’ve forgotten your WordPress admin password and cannot log in to your website’s dashboard, you can quickly reset it using your registered email address. This method is simple, secure, and doesn’t require access to the hosting control panel or database.
Steps to Reset Your Password via Email
- Go to the WordPress login page.
- Example: yourdomain.com/wp-admin
- Click on the link “Lost your password?” under the login form.
- Enter your WordPress admin username or the email address associated with your admin account.
- Click Get New Password.
- You will receive an email with the subject “[Your WordPress Site] Password Reset”.
- Inside the email, find the line that says:
To reset your password, visit the following address: - Click the link provided in that line.
- Enter your new password, confirm it, and click Reset Password.
Important Note
If you don’t receive the password reset email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
Ensure your WordPress website can send emails correctly (some hosting configurations may block outgoing mail).
You must have access to the email address associated with your WordPress admin account to complete this process.
