How to Create a Website Using WordPress AI Builder

WordPress AI Builder is a smart, beginner-friendly website creation tool integrated into WordPress and powered by our partner Extendify. It helps you create a fully functional website in just a few steps using AI-generated layouts, blocks, and content — all based on native WordPress components.

Note: WordPress AI Builder is only available for new WordPress installations made via Softaculous on the Godzilla, Godzilla+, or WPaaS hosting packages.

Accessing the WordPress AI Builder

You can access the AI Builder (Launch Wizard) using one of the following methods:

  1. Auto-login Email: After setup, an email is sent with a direct login link to your WordPress dashboard. On first login, the AI Builder wizard will launch automatically.
  2. Softaculous in cPanel:
    • Log into cPanel
    • Open Softaculous → “All Installations”
    • Click “Admin” next to the WordPress instance to auto-login
  3. From WordPress Admin:
    • Log into the WordPress Dashboard
    • Click on “AI Assistance” or “Extendify” from the left-hand menu to relaunch the builder or access templates and AI tools

Step-by-Step: Building Your Website with AI Builder

Step 1: Site Setup Wizard

Once launched, the AI Builder will ask you to:

  • Choose your site type: Blog, Business, Portfolio, Online Store, etc.
  • Enter a title and description: Describe your business or goal — the more precise, the better the AI-generated result.
  • Select your structure: Single-page or multi-page.
  • Choose a visual style: (e.g., Modern, Minimalist, Clean, Bold)
  • Pick sections (if multi-page): Home, About, Services, Contact, etc.

Once submitted, the builder will automatically:

  • Create the page structure
  • Generate relevant content
  • Apply a visual layout using native Gutenberg blocks

Step 2: Edit Content and Layout

You can now begin customizing the site:

  • Use the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) to edit text, sections, and layout
  • Click on any block to edit text, change formatting, or adjust spacing and colors
  • Replace images by selecting the block → “Replace → Upload” or choose from the Media Library

Using AI Assistance (“Ask AI”)

After setup, you can enhance your pages using built-in AI features:

  • Click the star icon (“Ask AI”) available within most blocks
  • Ask the AI to:
    • Reword or expand content
    • Generate new sections like testimonials, pricing, or FAQs
    • Suggest headings, descriptions, or call-to-action content

You may have a limited number of free prompts. Higher prompt limits may apply based on your hosting plan.

Accessing and Using the Design Library

  • Go to Pages → Add New or edit an existing page
  • Click “Design Library” in the top toolbar
  • Choose from:
    • Full-page layouts (e.g., Homepage, About, Contact)
    • Pre-styled content sections (e.g., Hero, Testimonials, Pricing)

The templates are responsive and fully compatible with any theme that supports block editing.

Managing and Adding Pages

  • Navigate to Pages → All Pages to view/edit generated pages
  • To add a new page:
    • Click “Add New”
    • Use “Design Library” or “Ask AI” to generate content
  • Rearrange, duplicate, or delete pages from the toolbar or page list

Publishing Your Website

Initially, your site is in Coming Soon mode. Once you’re satisfied:

  1. Click “Save” then “Launch” in the WordPress editor
  2. Assign your domain name if needed
  3. Enable SSL (HTTPS) for security
  4. Your site is now live and public

Adding E-commerce Features (Optional)

WordPress AI Builder focuses on informational and service-based sites. If you need e-commerce:

  • Install WooCommerce via Plugins → Add New
  • Follow the WooCommerce setup wizard
  • Customize your shop pages using the block editor

Best Practices

  • Be specific with your initial site description — better results from AI
  • Use AI suggestions to speed up layout and content generation
  • Customize manually to match your brand’s voice and visuals
  • Use reusable blocks for repeating content (e.g., contact forms, CTAs)
  • Regularly save and preview changes before publishing
