Overview
WP Toolkit provides two different actions:
- Detach: Stops WP Toolkit from managing the installation without deleting the website.
- Remove: May permanently delete the WordPress website and its associated data.
Review the selected action carefully.
Detach a Website
- Open WP Toolkit.
- Locate the installation.
- Open its action menu.
- Select Detach.
- Confirm the action.
After detaching:
- Website files remain.
- The database remains.
- The website should continue operating.
- WP Toolkit stops managing it.
- The installation may be detected again later through scanning.
Use Detach when you only want to remove the website from WP Toolkit management.
Remove a Website
The Remove operation may delete:
- Website files
- WordPress database
- Database user
- WP Toolkit backup data
- Other selected installation components
Before Removing an Installation
- Confirm the exact domain.
- Confirm the installation path.
- Create a final backup.
- Download or store the backup independently.
- Confirm that no other website shares the database.
- Confirm that no other website depends on the directory.
- Review every component selected for deletion.
- Confirm that you no longer require the website.
Remove the Installation
- Open the installation menu.
- Select Remove.
- Review the components that will be deleted.
- Confirm only if the target and backup have been verified.
- Wait for the operation to finish.
Warning: Removal is destructive and may permanently delete the website. Detaching and removing are not interchangeable.
