How to Install WordPress Using WP Toolkit in cPanel

Overview

WP Toolkit can install WordPress and automatically prepare its files, database, and initial configuration.

Before You Begin

Make sure that:

  • The domain or subdomain has been added to cPanel.
  • The domain points to the correct hosting server.
  • The intended destination does not contain another website.
  • You know whether WordPress should open from the domain root or a subdirectory.
  • Your hosting account has sufficient disk space and available resources.

Install WordPress

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Open WP Toolkit.
  3. Click Install WordPress.
  4. Select the domain.
  5. Configure the installation directory.

To install WordPress directly on the domain:

https://example.com

Leave the directory field empty.

To install it in a subdirectory such as:

https://example.com/blog

Enter blog in the directory field.

Do not enter public_html when installing WordPress directly on the primary domain.

Configure the Website

Enter the following information:

  • Website title: The name displayed by WordPress.
  • Website language: The initial WordPress language.
  • Plugin or theme set: An optional predefined set, if available.
  • WordPress version: Use a currently supported version unless compatibility requires otherwise.

The website title and language can be changed later.

Create the Administrator Account

Enter:

  • Administrator username
  • Strong administrator password
  • Valid administrator email address

Avoid predictable usernames such as:

  • admin
  • administrator
  • The domain name
  • The website name

The administrator email may be used for password resets and important WordPress notifications.

Configure the Database

WP Toolkit can automatically generate:

  • Database name
  • Database username
  • Database password

Retain the generated values unless you have a specific technical reason to change them.

Configure Automatic Updates

Select the initial update policy for:

  • WordPress core
  • Plugins
  • Themes

A balanced starting configuration is:

  • Enable WordPress security and maintenance updates.
  • Review major WordPress releases before installing them.
  • Enable plugin and theme auto-updates only for trusted, actively maintained components.
  • Maintain regular backups.

Complete the Installation

  1. Review the domain, directory, administrator, and database settings.
  2. Click Install.
  3. Wait for WP Toolkit to finish.
  4. Open the public website.
  5. Use Log in to access the WordPress dashboard.
  6. Confirm that HTTPS works correctly.
  7. Review the permalink, timezone, language, and administrator email settings.

After Installation

You should also:

  • Install only necessary plugins.
  • Remove unused themes and plugins.
  • Keep one current default WordPress theme for troubleshooting.
  • Configure backups.
  • Enable two-factor authentication for WordPress administrators when possible.
  • Test forms and outgoing email.
  • Apply available security recommendations carefully.
