How to Reset cPanel Password from WHM

Overview

The WHM (Web Host Manager) dashboard allows VPS and Dedicated Server users to manage all hosting accounts on the server. This guide shows you how to reset a cPanel account password from the WHM panel.

Note
You can only reset cPanel passwords via WHM if you are using a VPS (Virtual Private Server) or Dedicated Server. Shared hosting users do not have access to WHM.

Steps to Reset cPanel Password from WHM

  1. Log in to your WHM account via the following format:
    https://<IP address>:2087 or https://<domain>:2087
    (e.g. https://198.51.100.1:2087)
  2. In the left-side menu, scroll to the Account Information section and click List Accounts.
  3. A list of all cPanel accounts under your WHM will appear.
  4. Find the account you want to reset the password for and click the (+) icon next to it.
  5. In the Change Password field, enter the new password.
  6. Click on the Change button to apply the new password.
  7. A confirmation message will appear if the change was successful.
