Managing Your Linux or Windows VPS from the Client Area — Overview

Overview

The Client Area gives you one place to review your VPS information and open its management tools. This guide introduces the page and helps you choose the right guide for a specific task.

Available controls depend on your operating system, VPS image, service configuration, and current VM state. Some buttons may be unavailable. Linux-specific recovery and SSH features should not be assumed to work identically on Windows.

1. Access Your VPS Service

  1. Sign in to the Client Area.
  2. Open Cloud Service from the menu or dashboard.
  3. Choose the VPS you want to manage from the list.

2. Review the Service Information

The product page shows service information such as status and billing details. The Instance Details section can show the VM name, operating system image, plan or flavor, RAM, vCPUs, volume size, region, and protection status. Further sections may list network interfaces, volumes, and task status.

Scheduled Tasks is shown as a status table in this interface. Its presence does not mean that you can create schedules from that table.

3. Understand Service Actions

Start VM and Stop VM control the VM power state. Soft Reboot requests a restart, while Hard Reboot VM is the force-restart option. Pause VM and Unpause VM suspend and resume execution. Rescue VM and Unrescue VM relate to recovery mode.

Power actions and recovery operations can interrupt running services. Review the confirmation dialog, save your work where possible, and plan a suitable maintenance window.

4. Choose a Management Tool

Console: open the browser-based console to reach the operating system login screen.

Firewall: manage permitted network traffic using firewall rules.

Change Password: reset the operating system administrator password where supported. See the Linux root-password guide for image compatibility requirements.

Reinstallation: choose an operating system image for reinstalling the VPS.

Snapshots: open the snapshot list and create a snapshot where the service supports it.

Change Protection: review the VM protection setting. Ask Support which operations protection prevents on your service before relying on it.

Download Private Key / Download Public Key: key-download options may be available for supported Linux services. Keep private keys confidential.

Reinstallation replaces the operating system and can erase existing data. Confirm a usable backup before proceeding. A snapshot should not be treated as a substitute for an independent backup.

5. Security Add-ons

A Monarx Protection section may display add-on availability. Check the service-specific terms and contact Support for supported operating systems and setup details before ordering.
