Overview

The Auto-Renew setting controls whether the Client Area automatically generates a renewal invoice for your domain before its expiration date.

Enabling Auto-Renew does not automatically charge your payment method. Your domain is renewed only after the renewal invoice has been paid successfully.

Enable or Disable Auto-Renew

  1. Log in to your Libyan Spider Client Area.
  2. From the main menu, select Domains > My Domains.
  3. Click the domain name you want to manage.
  4. Locate the Auto-Renew option.
  5. Enable or disable the option as required.
  6. Confirm that the new status is displayed for the domain.

The setting applies only to the selected domain. If you manage multiple domains, review the Auto-Renew setting for each one separately.

What Happens When Auto-Renew Is Enabled?

When Auto-Renew is enabled:

  • A renewal invoice is automatically generated before the domain expires.
  • The invoice and related notifications are sent to your registered email address.
  • You must pay the invoice before its due date to complete the renewal.
  • After successful payment and processing, the domain’s expiration date is extended.

Enabling this option helps you receive the renewal invoice in advance, but it does not guarantee renewal if the invoice remains unpaid.

What Happens When Auto-Renew Is Disabled?

When Auto-Renew is disabled:

  • The Client Area will not automatically generate future renewal invoices for the domain.
  • The domain will remain active until its current expiration date.
  • You must renew the domain manually if you decide to keep it.
  • If the domain is not renewed in time, it may expire, stop working, enter a grace or redemption period, or eventually become available for registration by someone else.

Disabling Auto-Renew does not immediately delete or cancel the domain.

If a renewal invoice was generated before you disabled Auto-Renew, check the Invoices section of your Client Area to confirm its current status. Changing the setting should not be treated as confirmation that an existing invoice has been cancelled.

Renew a Domain Manually

You can renew an eligible domain manually at any time:

  1. Log in to the Client Area.
  2. Go to Domains > Domain Renewals.
  3. Select the domain you want to renew.
  4. Choose the renewal period.
  5. Add the renewal to your cart.
  6. Proceed to checkout and complete the payment.

Recommendations

  • Keep Auto-Renew enabled for important domains.
  • Ensure your registered email address is correct and regularly monitored.
  • Review and pay renewal invoices before their due dates.
  • Do not wait until the expiration date, as renewal and recovery policies vary by domain extension.
  • If you no longer need a domain, disable Auto-Renew well before its next renewal invoice is generated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Auto-Renew automatically charge my card or account?

No. Auto-Renew automatically generates the renewal invoice, but you must complete payment for the domain to be renewed.

Is my domain guaranteed to renew when Auto-Renew is enabled?

No. Renewal is completed only after the invoice is paid successfully and the renewal request is processed.

Will disabling Auto-Renew immediately deactivate my domain?

No. The domain remains active until its current expiration date unless another issue affects its status.

Can I enable Auto-Renew again later?

Yes. You can return to the domain management page and enable it again, provided the domain is still eligible for renewal.

Can I renew a domain manually while Auto-Renew is disabled?

Yes. Go to Domains > Domain Renewals, select the domain, and complete the payment.

What happens if the domain expires?

Depending on the domain extension, the domain may stop working and enter an expiration grace period, redemption period, or deletion process. Additional recovery fees may apply, and recovery is not always guaranteed.
