How to Install SSL Certificate on cPanel

In this guide, you will learn how to install an SSL certificate within your cPanel environment, ensuring your website's security and trustworthiness.

Note
To further verify that your SSL certificate has been installed correctly, visit your website using the https://example.com. You should observe a green padlock icon next to your domain name in the browser's address bar. This indicates that the SSL/TLS certificate has been successfully installed and your website is now secured with HTTPS encryption.

Prerequisites:

Before proceeding with the installation, ensure you have the following files readily available:

Installing the SSL Certificate File

  1. Log in to cPanel Account.
  2. Navigate to the Security section: Open SSL/TLS Manager, then click on Manage SSL Sites (on the right-hand side of the page).
  3. Navigate to Install an SSL Website and select the Domain name from a dropdown menu that you want to install SSL certificate for.
  4. Paste  the following:
  • Certificate (CRT), open the certificate file and copy the entire content, including the —–BEGIN CERTIFICATE—– and —–END CERTIFICATE—– lines, and paste it into the Certificate: (CRT) field.
  • Private Key, copy its entire content, including —–BEGIN PRIVATE KEY—– and —–END PRIVATE KEY—– lines, and paste it into the Private Key (KEY) field.
  • Certificate Authority Bundle (CABUNDLE), this is optional but recommended for full chain validation.  Click the Install Certificate.
